How we work

Candidates

We offer a bespoke, personal service to all candidates who register with us. With our wealth of experience within the campaigning sector, we understand that securing the right job is about more than just matching your skill set and experience. We work with candidates who are passionate and who care about our sector and we will support you to find the perfect role that matches your personal and professional goals.

How to register

To ensure we can find the right role for you, it is important to register with us. To do this, please email your latest CV to contact@therightethos.co.uk . Within this email, include the following:

  • Details of your specialist knowledge and career aspirations.
  • Details regarding organisations you would like to work for and those you would not consider.
  • Details regarding the type of roles you are interested in and the level you wish to attain.
  • The salary range you would consider.
  • The pattern of work you would consider. Most roles are permanent and full-time. But tell us if you would consider or prefer any positions that are part-time, temporary, interim or freelance.

For many people, they never know when their dream job will come up. Here at The Right Ethos, we can help you as we tell those registered with us when a job matching their attributes comes up. Thus, we can help give candidates the best chance of getting it by providing expert advice and knowledge of the employer.

Showing ‘the right ethos’ to our candidates

Only 23% of applicants receive some sort of reply after applying for an advertised position. We think this is appalling. Our goal is to reply to every single email from candidates – we’re not at 100%, nearer to 97%. We believe that it’s important to treat everyone with courtesy including those candidates for whom we may not have suitable opportunities.

All personal information is held in strictest confidence in line with our code of practice.

About The Right Ethos

The Right Ethos was set up after our founder, Jonathan Dearth, had worked in the campaigning sector for 13 years, for campaigning organisations including Amnesty International, Shelter, Liberty and the World Development Movement. It was set up as a response to multi-sector recruitment consultancies moving in on the charity sector, and in particular not recognising that people who work for campaigning organisations are motivated by justice and long term change.
